About animal research in Sweden.

Pain medication, treatments for astma and high blood pressure, life saving vaccines, insulin for diabetics and treatments for cancer. All these medical advances are made possible thanks to biomedical research where animal studies is an essential part.

Djurförsök.info aims to put biomedical research into context and explain when and why animal studies are needed. We provide basic information and highlight the ethical aspects on this issue in a Swedish perspective.

The website djurförsök.info is a collaboration between the universities in Umeå, Uppsala, Linköping, Göteborg and Lund, Karolinska Institutet and the Swedish Research Council.
