Information about animal research in Sweden

Sheep

Sheep, like rabbits, are used to produce antibodies.
The antibodies are then used in research to analyse various substances and to establish diagnoses.

Sheep have played an important role in research on pregnancy and childbirth, e.g. to study hormones and how they affect pregnancy and childbirth.
